About Me

Jodie McGovern (she/her)

LPC, EMDRIA Certified Therapist, RYT 200

some of my labels: queer, parent, neurodivergent, chronic illness

What you can expect from me is that I will be warm, candid, authentic, and invested. My transparency serves to create a space for others to be fully seen as themselves.

If you’ve spent years appearing “fine” while carrying sexual trauma, childhood trauma, or complex trauma, you’re not alone. I’m offering trauma therapy that respects your intelligence, your adaptations, and your lived reality. Healing here is consent-based, politically aware, and paced for nervous systems that have learned to stay on guard.

I practice from the belief that trauma lives not just in the body—but in the systems we’re forced to survive. We move at your pace, with your nervous system—not against it.

My approach to healing is holistic, meaning all parts of you. We will explore what negative beliefs are holding you back from choosing yourself. You will be able to look forward to creating a lifestyle and narrative that reclaims your power, and will find meaning and continued growth moving into a future of your own design.

My career includes 10 years in nonprofits, working with diverse groups of people in PA, CA, Mexico and Japan. I’ve been a therapist since 2014. I practice EMDR and incorporate parts work (inner child healing), attachment theory, yoga and mindfulness techniques to connect the somatic experience, feminist theory, and a collection of other tools. It is my aim to be culturally humble and participate in decolonial/liberation psychology and against systems of oppression. My therapeutic goal is whole person healing so that you can feel empowered to cultivate your best life.

My subject specialties include:
